Funerals are not something introverts look forward to attending. Discover how J. dealt with the funeral of an old friend and why buying beer for teenage boys is probably not a good idea.

I agree, J, I don’t deal with funerals well either. Listening to this episode reminds me of my 25-year class reunion being planned this summer. My Mom asked me once if I’m going, and after thinking about it for two freaking seconds, I said, “Nope.” She then gave me a look like I had slugs coming out of my ears. Even though my wife is an extrovert, she understands my reasoning for not wanting to go.

Keep up the great work with the podcast, J. Rock on!

Ha! Yeah, I’m not a fan of reunions of any type 😉

This episode brought up some good memories. We used to ask adults to buy us beer or cigarettes, too, though we never got caught by the police. We would offer the person buying to keep the change or throw them an extra 5 or 10 bucks. I was surprised when a pregnant woman once got us some beer. I remember hanging out at a shopping plaza before I was old enough to buy cigarettes. A homeless guy would do odd jobs at some of the stores for cash and buy me cigarettes. Good times, lol.

I agree with not going to funerals or reunions, especially if you haven’t kept in touch with the person or your classmates. I never understood reunions. Anyways, I’m enjoying the show, J.

      I can relate!

I think we’re in the minority on the funerals/reunions thing. Most people think you’re a dick if you don’t go to those.

[…] Episode 16 in particular caught my attention because J. was dealing with a topic that I wrestle with all the time…”Should I go to _______?” […]
