Grab a microphone or a recording app on your phone and in 5-7 minutes tell me what life is like for you as an introvert. I’ll put it on the show. Send it to J. Thorn at jthorn.writer AT gmail DOT com.

Wonderful segment, thanks for sharing, Jim. That book is on my to-read list… Though it sounds like it should be something I hand out to friends.
Quiet is definitely worth checking out.
Thanks for the book recommendation. Will have to check it out. There is definitely a difference between being shy and an introvert, however I believe I am both. I can make small talk and function fine at my job speaking with people but If I am put in a situation where I am the center of attention I freeze up and stumble over my words. It’s terrible and I hate it. It’s not from fear of what others will think of me. It’s all most like my mind goes blank and at the same time I have a 1,000 things to say all at once and so I am scrambling on what to say.I haha. Getting plenty of alone time is a key factor.
I’ve had those moments, too. I just don’t feel the need to bully my way into a conversation with a million words which is why I end up not saying much when socializing in groups. I’m totally comfortable and “extroverted” in one-on-one conversations.
Exactly. I wish I had a dollar for every time someone called me stuck up, told me to smile more, or said stop being so shy!
Never mind. I’m a dumbass.
Not sure why it’s posting as Anonymous. :O
