On my largely disused blog, the post that gets the most hits, even now… Is my post on sleep and being an introvert. I am not surprised yours has a similar existence. Thinking about your search for introvert podcasts, I think lots of people are looking… And so.much that is out there… Are like buzzfeed lists. There is a want/need out there for these discussions.
I think you’re right. There seems to be a surge of interest in different personality types and how best to survive this crazy, modern world of ours.
Parties are painful.
I wish it was okay to just say “No thank you, I don’t want to come to your party. But thanks for inviting me.”
But it’s not. I have done it from time to time, and I’m still waiting for the day when that’s accepted as a valid answer. Even if I explain why, it’s still not a valid answer.
Why do extroverts seem to see it as an insult, if you don’t want to celebrate them with their other 39 close friends?
I think this would be number 1 on my list of things, that I’d like extroverts to understand.
I don’t like parties. Period! Celebrate all you want to, but don’t force me to put on my party face for you. Because that mask is wearing thinner for each time it’s used.
I will do just about anything to get out of a party.
Oh man, I also use music to protect me from social interaction.
Writing is my art form of choice, I use it as a substitution for human interaction. Plus I have been know to use doodling and drawing to look busy in hopes I won’t be thrown into small talk with someone I barely know, or forced to interact with a group larger than my normal haha.
Furiously scribbling. Good call!
